2015 Pape Estate
Wild, spiced aromas of black plum, licorice and dark berry
fruits are infused with savory elements of forest floor,
charcuterie and grilled herbs. The wine is deeply layered on
the palate with an elegant texture and rich array to its both
lush and earthy characters. Flavors of plum, raspberry and
mission fig combine with notes of cedar, white pepper, lilac
and spice, as soft lacy tannins flesh out the palate and lead
to a long-lasting, perfumed finish.
Our 2015 Pape is an intriguing blend of three grape
varieties native to the French Rhone region –Grenache,
Mourvèdre and Syrah. Grapes were harvested from mid to
late September with intense color, rich aromatics and spicy
fruit flavors. Components were vinified individually and
underwent malolactic fermentation in once-used oak
barriques. The final blend was assembled from barrel and
returned to large French oak puncheons for 22 months’
maturation. This is an aromatically compelling blend, with
an excellent intensity to its sweet, spicy fruit flavors.

Our complete lineup of Tranche wines is sliced into two different series: our ‘Rhone Series’ and our ‘Single Varietal Series’.
Grapes native to France’s Rhône Valley are the focus of our ‘Slice of Pape’ program – our homage particularly to the blended wines of the Southern Rhône. Slice of Pape, Pape Blanc, and Pink Pape (our dry rosé) are crafted from the best of these traditional varietals. Separately and together, they offer you a New World expression of these classic Old World wines.
Single Varietal Series
And finally, the cornerstones of our portfolio, we produce limited quantities of varietal wines, each focusing on a single grape. The Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Syrah express the terroir of our Blue Mountain Vineyard in Walla Walla. The Chardonnay comes from our Celilo Vineyard in the Columbia Gorge AVA, renown for growing the finest Chardonnay in Washington State. In these wines you can taste the grape’s unique character – its aromas, flavors, texture and detail.
