Lauri Corliss

2015 Pape Estate

Wild, spiced aromas of black plum, licorice and dark berry fruits are infused with savory elements of forest floor, charcuterie and grilled herbs. The wine is deeply layered on the palate with an elegant texture and rich array to its both lush and earthy characters. Flavors of plum, raspberry and mission fig combine with notes of cedar, white pepper, lilac and spice, as soft lacy tannins flesh out the palate and lead to a long-lasting, perfumed finish.

Winemaker Notes

Our 2015 Pape is an intriguing blend of three grape
varieties native to the French Rhone region –Grenache,
Mourvèdre and Syrah. Grapes were harvested from mid to
late September with intense color, rich aromatics and spicy
fruit flavors. Components were vinified individually and
underwent malolactic fermentation in once-used oak
barriques. The final blend was assembled from barrel and
returned to large French oak puncheons for 22 months’
maturation. This is an aromatically compelling blend, with
an excellent intensity to its sweet, spicy fruit flavors.
