Tranche Cellars

“It’s about being true and authentic to the classic styles of wines in the world.

Throughout our Estate Vineyards, we cultivate a diverse collection of some of the world’s most interesting grape varietals.”

Lauri Corliss

2013 Cabernet Franc Estate

Floral and herbaceous on the nose with delicate aromas of rose petal, violet and wildflowers above layers of dried blackcurrant and lignified wood. A soft entry to the palate is followed by immediate weight and density with rich flavors of mission fig, blackberry and licorice root. Herbaceous notes of mint, dried basil and black tea leaf combine with dusty, mouth-filling tannins to make this a truly savory expression of Cabernet Franc.

Winemaker Notes

Our Blue Mountain Estate Vineyard consistently produces outstanding Cabernet Franc, and showcases the dark earth and floral aromas and flavors that make it such a wonderful and distinctive grape variety. Our two best blocks of Cabernet Franc were hand-harvested and sorted into small oak open tops for fermentation. After an extended time on skins, the wines were gently basket-pressed into new and used French oak barriques for just under two years’ maturation prior to bottling.
