Tranche Cellars

“It’s about being true and authentic to the classic styles of wines in the world.

Throughout our Estate Vineyards, we cultivate a diverse collection of some of the world’s most interesting grape varietals.”

Lauri Corliss

2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate

Powerful dark fruit aromas of black plum, mission fig and cassis, with herbaceous notes of sage, black tea and tobacco leaf. The wine is full-bodied and creamy in texture, showing highly polished tannins and a tremendous depth to its dark fruit flavors. Supple and well-rounded, the densely packed tannins fill out the palate to a savory, long-lasting finish.

Winemaker Notes

Fruit for our 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon was grown at our Blue Mountain Estate Vineyard, at the base of the Blue Mountains in Walla Walla. The Cabernet blocks that were harvested in early November had dark, concentrated fruit flavors, intense color, and fully developed phenolics. Gentle handling through fermentation, followed by an extended time on skins, produced a deeply structured and expressive wine, worthy of its 24-month extended bottle maturation prior to release.
