2014 Chardonnay Estate
A pure and fragrant nose with delicate aromas of sautéed peach, Asian pear, crushed stone, toasted almond, and freshly baked brioche. Celilo’s distinctive stone fruit flavors saturate the palate with a tremendous depth and intensity of flavor. A firm, driving acidity provides excellent power and finesse while light toasted elements add warmth and structure. The wine finishes with excellent length and saline minerality.
Harvested from our highest elevation Estate vineyard, Celilo, in the cool-climate Columbia Gorge AVA, our 2014 Chardonnay was whole-bunch pressed into new and used French oak barriques and concrete egg-shaped fermenters. Native fermentation and regular stirring of the lees helped impart rich texture and outstanding depth to the palate. The wine underwent partial malolactic fermentation in barrel and was aged on lees for 11 months prior to bottling.

Our complete lineup of Tranche wines is sliced into two different series: our ‘Rhone Series’ and our ‘Single Varietal Series’.
Grapes native to France’s Rhône Valley are the focus of our ‘Slice of Pape’ program – our homage particularly to the blended wines of the Southern Rhône. Slice of Pape, Pape Blanc, and Pink Pape (our dry rosé) are crafted from the best of these traditional varietals. Separately and together, they offer you a New World expression of these classic Old World wines.
Single Varietal Series
And finally, the cornerstones of our portfolio, we produce limited quantities of varietal wines, each focusing on a single grape. The Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Syrah express the terroir of our Blue Mountain Vineyard in Walla Walla. The Chardonnay comes from our Celilo Vineyard in the Columbia Gorge AVA, renown for growing the finest Chardonnay in Washington State. In these wines you can taste the grape’s unique character – its aromas, flavors, texture and detail.
