Tranche Cellars

“It’s about being true and authentic to the classic styles of wines in the world.

Throughout our Estate Vineyards, we cultivate a diverse collection of some of the world’s most interesting grape varietals.”

Lauri Corliss

2013 Chardonnay Estate

A delicate and fragrant nose showing lifted aromas of white peach and nectarine, slivered almond, crushed shale and a hint of flinty reduction. Celilo vineyard’s distinctive stone fruit flavors saturate the palate with a tremendous depth and intensity of flavor. A firm, driving acidity provides excellent power and finesse, while light toasted elements add warmth and structure. The wine finishes with excellent length and a saline minerality.

Winemaker Notes

Harvested from our highest elevation Estate vineyard, Celilo, in the cool-climate Columbia Gorge AVA, our 2013 Chardonnay was whole-bunch pressed into new and used French oak barriques and concrete egg-shaped fermenters. Native fermentation and regular stirring of the lees helped impart a rich texture and outstanding depth to the palate. The wine underwent complete malolactic fermentation in barrel and was aged on lees for 11 months prior to bottling.
