“It’s about being true and authentic to the classic styles of wines in the world.

Throughout our Estate Vineyards, we cultivate a diverse collection of some of the world’s most interesting grape varietals.”

Lauri Corliss

2015 Syrah Estate

A strikingly intense nose offers aromas of cured meats, purple flowers, eucalyptus and clove, around a tarry, purple and black fruit core. The wine is viscous and supple in texture with rich flavors of blackberry reduction, bacon fat, French toast and licorice that saturate the palate. Silky, fine-grained tannins slowly expand across the palate, seamlessly progressing to a long-lasting finish. This is a dense and powerful expression of Walla Walla Valley Syrah.

Winemaker Notes

Tranche’s Syrah is a blend of the most exceptional blocks within our Blue Mountain Estate Vineyard. The 2015 growing season produced powerful wines with deep color and intensity of dark fruit flavors. Individual blocks were harvested in mid-September and hand-sorted into small concrete fermenters. A portion of the ferments received a small inclusion of stems, while others were co-fermented with Viognier. Once dry, the wines were pressed and filled into new and used French oak puncheons. After 22 months in barrel, the wines were racked, blended and bottled, and received a further 12 months of maturation prior to release.
