Single-variety, Single-vineyard Wines

A big part of what makes our flagship red wines unique is the site where they are grown. For over a decade, we’ve harvested our Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the same blocks at our Blue Mountain Estate Vineyard. Sitting at close to 1,300 feet elevation, our Blue Mountain Estate Vineyard is considered a veritable sweet spot for growing these varieties.

The vineyard’s position in the Walla Walla Valley helps to maximize the growing season, protect against spring frost and winter freeze, and allow for later ripening. And while each growing season is different, the throughline in our flagship red wines is the spot where the grapes are grown and the care our vineyard team puts into the health of the vines.

A warm growing season with big flavors

The growing season for our current releases saw high temperatures. This made for a harvest with low yields, but as our winemaker Spencer states, “That makes for more energy the vine has to direct to less fruit, so you end up with great concentration of flavors and tannins.”
